Why did balloons get bigger when the pump was turned on? When The pump was turned on the molecules move out from the container. When the molecules move out from the container, the molecules on the inside of the balloon are bouncing the balloon expands because the molecules are pushing in only one direction.
What was happening at the molecular level?
The molecules bounce off of the inside surface of the balloon.
