What is unique about the polarity (charge characteristics) of soap?
Because one end is really negative and the other end has no charge.
How does soap work?
The molecular structure of soap is non-polar and is made up of mostly fats and oils. Soap works by binding itself with the other non-polar molecules and removing them from polar surfaces such as dishes. In other words, one end of the soap molecule attaches to the dirt, while the other end attaches to the water. Washing away the water and the soap and dirt!
